Premier League Darts, 2019 – Not to be missed!

Now it does not matter if you are a wannabe pro or a garage hacker, this year’s Premier League Darts is not to be missed. If you’re a fan of darts and follow the world’s best pro’s, love to be surprised from time to time, fancy the outsider and have an interest in sporting drama, then this is for you.

2019 Premier League Darts

You never know, you may even get a bit of agro as witnessed by James Wades performance in the World Champs when he, well let’s just say he stepped over the line. The Premier League is a weekly competition which sees 18 of the best dart players in the world, nine players and nine contenders. I won’t bore you with the format, only to say the competition is split into two phases, the first over eight weeks (nine nights) and the second over seven weeks. It ends on the 23rd of May at the O2 Arena in London where the top four play off, then a final in a first to 11 legs to crown a champion who will pocket a cool GBP250,000!

The clear favourite is none other than the current world champ and the winner of the Premier League for the last three years, Dutchman, Michael van Gerwen. That’s not to say that he will romp home this year. MVG as he’s commonly known as won his week one game (last week) 7-5 against Michael Smith in a repeat of the World Championship final six weeks ago. BTW, week one of the Premier League saw a total of 37, 180’s in the five games played in a first to seven legs in Newcastle.

Week two, later this week sees 7 of the world’s top 8 players match up with another five matches and yes, MVG will be playing also. Unfortunately top Scot and the world’s fourth ranked player, Gary Anderson is out of this year’s Premier League with a back injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.

So what more do you want? Get some popcorn and a cold drink, this one is guaranteed to be another exciting one!

Straight arrows everyone.
