Darts is a game of skill and focus, and the right setup makes improvement easier. A high-quality package provides consistent performance, protects your walls, and allows you to practice without worrying about subpar gear. That’s why complete dartboard packages in NZ are the smart option. You get the dartboard, darts, and accessories in one bundle.

These packages are ideal for beginners who want a ready-made kit and for players who are unsure about what to buy next. Packages save money compared to buying separately, eliminate trial and error, and provide you with equipment that grows with your skills. Whatever your level, the right package helps you play with confidence and enjoy darts even more.

All About Dartboard Packages

Dartboard packages take the guesswork out of getting started. Instead of piecing together a board, darts, wall protectors, and accessories, you get everything matched and ready to use. For beginners, that means less confusion. For regular players, it means an upgrade that delivers consistent performance without extra research.

The biggest advantage is value. Packages cost less than buying items separately and often include extras like spare stems, flights, or surrounds you might overlook. You also gain the convenience of knowing the gear your getting is curated by Bullseye Darts and works well together, giving you a smoother playing experience from the start.

Key Components of a Complete Dartboard Package

Every dartboard package comes with the essentials you need to play, but the exact components affect how much you enjoy the game.

Dartboard Types and Materials

Most complete dartboard packages in NZ feature bristle boards, constructed from tightly packed sisal fibers. Bristle boards are the gold standard because they:

  • Self-heal after dart removal, extending the board’s life

  • Offer true-to-competition play, matching official tournament standards

  • Reduce bounce-outs with thinner wires and staple-free bullseyes

Electronic dartboards are better suited for casual entertainment. For players who want to practice seriously and improve accuracy, a bristle dartboard is the right choice. Premium sisal quality and advanced wiring design make a clear difference in durability and scoring consistency.

Darts and Accessories

Packages include brass and tungsten darts. Brass darts are affordable and good for beginners, while tungsten darts are slimmer and more precise, making them the standard for serious players. Choosing the right set affects how smoothly the dart flies and how tightly the groups land on the board.

Other accessories add convenience and protection, such as:

  • Surrounds that shield your walls from stray throws

  • Spare stems and flights to keep your darts in top condition

  • Lighting systems that remove shadows and improve visibility

  • Rule sheets and scoreboards that guide beginners and support gameplay

These extras may seem small, but they make practice easier, extend equipment life, and help you play at a higher level.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Dartboard Package

Not every setup fits every player. By weighing your skill level, available space, and budget, you’ll find a package that matches your dart playing needs.

Skill Level and Usage

Beginners often do well with entry-level kits that include brass or starter tungsten darts, because they provide solid performance without a big investment. More advanced players benefit from high-density bristle boards, professional-grade tungsten darts, and accessories designed to improve accuracy and consistency. Choose equipment that aligns with your skill level to progress faster and enjoy the game more.

Space and Setup Requirements

Darts require at least 2.37 meters from the board to the oche, plus clear space around the sides. Surrounds prevent wall damage, while lighting improves visibility and reduces eye strain. Factoring in these details ensures a safer, more enjoyable playing area.

Budget Considerations

Your budget sets the limits, but a package makes every dollar go further. Whether you’re spending under NZ$100 or investing in a professional setup, you’ll get bundled value and balanced performance without wasting money on mismatched gear.

Benefits of Buying Complete Dartboard Packages in NZ

Choosing a complete package takes the stress out of buying the proper dart gear. Instead of juggling separate purchases, you get everything bundled for convenience, quality, and value.

At Bullseye Darts, packages include:

Most people in New Zealand who play or watch darts—or who are just keen on the sport—know that professional competitions are televised, showcasing the incredible skill of top players. But what many don’t realize is that behind the scenes, these same pros compete in the PDC Players Championship Series, a high-stakes, non-televised circuit. So, what is this series, and why is it worth following even if it’s not on TV?

What is the PDC Players Championship Series?

The PDC Players Championship Series is part of the PDC Pro Tour and consists of multiple non-televised darts tournaments held each year. In 2025, the series features 34 tournaments—up from 30 in previous years. Each tournament offers a total of £125,000 in prize money, with £15,000 for the winner, £10,000 for the runner-up, and payouts extending down to players reaching the last 64.

Each tournament starts with 128 players in a knockout format, making the competition fierce and fast-paced.

So far this year, 25 tournaments have been completed across England, The Netherlands, and Germany, with just 9 remaining.

Incredible Highlights from 2025

Nine-Dart Finishes

The standard of darts in the Players Championship Series is extraordinary. In 25 tournaments this year, there have already been 23 nine-dart finishes, achieved by 17 different players. Notable performances include:

  • Gary Anderson and Josh Rock, each hitting two nine-darters.

  • Dirk van Duijvenbode and Ross Smith, each landing three nine-darters.

In Players Championship 20 (July, Leicester Arena), three nine-darters were hit in a single day by Josh Rock, Leon Weber, and Stephen Bunting—an unforgettable display of skill.

Dominant Performances

At Players Championship 16 in Hildesheim, Germany, Ross Smith delivered what the PDC called “one of the most dominant Players Championship victories ever seen.” He became just the third player in history to hit multiple nine-darters in the same event, joining legends Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen. His path to victory included:

  • Quarter-Final: 6-0 over Danny Noppert

  • Semi-Final: 7-0 over Luke Woodhouse (averaging 105.21)

  • Final: 8-0 over Brendan Dolan

Record-Breaking Averages

The highest match average of 2025 so far was 122.96, set by current World Champion Luke Littler at Players Championship 5 during a 6-1 quarter-final win over Damon Heta.

Multiple Winners

Among the 25 tournaments played this year, 20 different winners have emerged. Standout multiple winners include Chris Dobey, Damon Heta, Stephen Bunting (each with two wins), and Gerwyn Price (three wins).

Upcoming Tournaments & Players Championship Finals

The next Players Championship tournament will be held on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 in Hildesheim, Germany. The final tournament, Players Championship 34, will take place at the end of October in Wigan.

The top 64 players on the Players Championship Order of Merit—based on prize money won—will qualify for the 2025 Players Championship Finals in November. Current leaders include:

  1. Gian van Veen (£73,500)

  2. Gerwyn Price (£72,000)

  3. Damon Heta (£71,000)

  4. Stephen Bunting & Ross Smith (£68,500 each)
